How to Measure your Jersey
How to Measure Your Jersey for the Mat Window Openings
To ensure a clean, professional mat cut that highlights your jersey exactly how you want it displayed, we only need two measurements. These measurements determine the window opening in the mat that will showcase the name and number.

Use the reference image above and follow the steps below.
What You’ll Need
-
A flat surface (table or floor)
-
A tape measure or ruler
-
Your jersey laid flat, back side facing up
Do not stretch or pull the jersey while measuring.
Measurement A: Vertical Measurement (Top to Bottom)
What this measures:
The total vertical window opening from the top of the last name to the bottom of the number.
How to measure:
-
Locate the highest point of the last name lettering.
-
Locate the lowest point of the number.
-
Measure straight down between those two points.
This measurement controls how tall the mat opening will be.
Measurement B: Horizontal Measurement (Left to Right)
What this measures:
The width of the last name area only.
How to measure:
-
Locate the leftmost edge of the last name lettering.
-
Locate the rightmost edge of the last name lettering.
-
Measure straight across between those two points.
This measurement controls how wide the name portion of the mat opening will be.
Important Measuring Tips
-
Measure the visible area you want cut out, not the entire jersey.
-
Measure the edges of the letters and numbers, not stitching or fabric beyond the design.
-
Round all measurements to the nearest 1/8 inch.
-
If the name is arched or curved, measure the widest part of the name.
-
Do not include sleeves, seams, or collar area.
Not Sure? We’ve Got You.
If you’re unsure about your measurements:
-
Upload a clear photo of the jersey (back side, laid flat), or
-
Send the photo after checkout
We’ll verify the measurements before cutting the mat.
Our goal is a clean, centered, professional display that looks intentional, not guessed.
